      Nope!!!

I picked up this bad boy for a decent price, she needs some TLC as she's been sat in a garage for a year collecting dust sadly. Had some serious cash spent on the engine with a new piston and gearbox but the fairings and wheels need some refurbing. Plus that exhaust is crying out for some paint, shame really as it's a Giannelli pipe. And sadly the MOT has just run out, I know - I know, but she was too good an opportunity too miss, so I snapped her up!!! 🙂

        Yeah nice mate.

        Just look at that spec

From the factory, USD, ally swing arm and SM. Let alone it being a savage engine.

Weak points on these are nylon cogs that drive the oil pump and water pump prone to failure.

        Other than that savage engines.

@CYBER-NINJA Why would you want to upgrade the oil pump, it and the fly wheel are both made in Japan. Of.course you wouldn't think they would leave important items to chance now would you?

Nog that I am of. But the cogs can be bought new from PJME.

The DT oil pump and water pump is driven from nylon cogs. It's just the dt puts out considerably less power.

@tdr125greg As said in the other post, the Rotax 123 engine is inferior to the 122 engine, which is what these bikes run.

Aprilia only ran the 123 for a short time, the rest of the engines were 122.

@Darty What did they put that in?

I love the 122/3 because of their availability. They were put into thousands of carts/bikes. They have loads of tuning parts and were raced world wide.

Apparently, for the street illegal 125, the Rotax 257 fits the RS125 frame, and presumably the SMX...

I picked up a set of mx/rx forks for cheap.

I will be including them in project tdr 😉

@CYBER-NINJA I'd say the TDR is more of a dual sport than it is a sports bike, nice sit upright posistion.

I like to think of the TDR's as the first of the baby sumos without it actually being a supermoto lol this is the inspiration behind my build I'm attempting a remodel kinda thing rather than a rebuild ;).

OH BOY where does the time go??? 😞

I have been somewhat busy acquiring some new and used spare parts for this bike, I'll post some pics of my (dodgey) dealings shortly.

I bought a job lot of parts which included a frame, would anyone be interested in that at all???

                                      SEDUCED BY THE DARK SIDE!!!

There's lots of allen bolts on this bike and much to my annoyance and frustration at previous owners, (The air was very very blue!!!). So I spent most of the day trying to remove stripped bolts. I won most of the battles I'm happy to report, Honestly has no-one ever heard of copper slip? But sadly I broke the rear hub on a spare set of wheels I have bought, trying to get one of those pesky disc bolts out. 😡 😡 😡

@ninja Had that with my Aprilia wheels. Big chisel and a hammer does the trick.
