Haven't posted in a while but things are still slowly moving .

The wheel has been with the builder for a week now so hoping to have it back soon.

Ordered the wrong front yz calliper doh!! So sending that back and ordering another. They calliper carry is wider on a 98 then the 97. My forks are 98 🙃.

The yz exhaust has arrived as well but I forgot to take a photo. It doesn't quite fit might need a little bit of heat and some bending to make it work but it's not to far off.

It's back!!! The wheel is finally back!!

So this is a 19" yz excel rim on a dt125r hub.

Fits nice even with the wheel pushed althe way towards the engine there's still clearance.

So the project isn't dead I've just been extremely busy with work.

Finally found a twin rad setup that works - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252198042402

The bike is currently at the machine shop getting the engine brackets and radiator brackets made up.

                  And this arrived today 🙂

                    Yes mate that is awesome.

Wicked find on those radiators too!

Even though my project is done, a set of ally radiators will be bought to help with the heat dissapation!

                    Top job.

                          Hi all,

                          So.....

The project isn't dead but I still don't have it back from the machine shop. It's only been 4 months for a couple of brackets 😴 I'm going to get a bit pissed with the guy soon!!

                          But these came today 🙂

@gareth_iowc I can only accept images of a certain size since I only have a limited bandwidth.

Either resize the images, or upload it directly yourself to Imgur. And embed

I love all these projects but fitting a lighting coil stator and lights then road registering an actual YZ125 would be easier ?

@scrimsmustang Sometimes it's just a question of funds, or more importantly lack of.

@calum Yes it but i think u can get a decent YZ125 for the same as a DTR these days Cal, mind you I guess its fun modifying them and having it how you want it. YZ front end with DTR shock will stiff front rubbish soft as rear end a stiffer DTX rear shock would be better and easy to fit no mods. 18 inch WR250/450 etc enduro rear excel rim would offer a better tyre choice rather than a 19 YZ motox rim also WR250/450 front wheel has a cable speedo drive unlike the YZ not a criticism just would be the same but easier.

                                      @scrimsmustang Yeah I know what you're saying.

There are a variety of reasons why one might do it. I know for one thing that at this point in time it's a sentimental attachment to my RE which would mean I'd never get rid of it. Which is silly cause it's a bit of a Only Fools & Horses "Trigger Broom" moment, other than the frame, swingarm, engine and shock, nothing on my bike is original original. So it's effectively a completely different bike.

Despite that, I could never get rid of it.
