Cleaned all the brake components up, refinishing calipers, waiting for rear piston as original pitted. Also refinished both master cylinders and again waiting for refurb kit. Have new brake lines to go on as well, R&Ģ , wheels should not be much longer either. Still waiting to hear from Yamaha about build colour and still no success in sourcing decent bodywork. Did get full original exhaust though from low mileage bike so not all bad!0_1500983877818_150098385198586123896.jpg

Thanks for the comments, brake parts arrived today so will be cracking on with calipers and master cylinder refurb. Had grandson today and he has fair worn me out. Have really enjoyed doing this (so far!) and learnt a lot on the way. Still no word from Yamaha yet about the build colour but gotta say that white/red colour scheme is awesome, absolutely love it.0_1501105334615_15011051823621572941963.jpg

Replaced both calliper pistons and seals in the end, received a front piston kit in error so made use of it. New brake hoses and bled system, rear was a pig to do tbh but got there in the end. Finished off a couple of little jobs but kicking my heels now until wheels are done. Ordering tyres on monday, looking for good on road tyres if anyone has any recommendations. Sent a request for vehicle history (along with a cheque!) to DVLA as still waiting for reply from Yamaha about colour. Exhausted all other means to identify, got to be white or blue. Tried the graphics co that advertises in MCN (Imageworks I think) for red bodywork decals but they don't do them, need a set to copy from first. Might need if they can reverse the colour scheme for the white 88 model, so I have white stickers on a red bike? What do you think?

I bet those R&G hoses weren't cheap. They look lovely though.

Came in at £54.00, happy with that (ish), rebuilt front master cylinder and that was pretty grim, circlip a pig to get off, corroded, took me ages to find my circlip pliers as well!
Photo of spare side panel with correct age related graphic shown, bit plain Jane to be honest , not as appealing as others. Mileage of bike was a shade over 28k when I started, lucky enough to pick up new clocks cheap a few years back, sold the old ones for more!

Phoned up about my wheels, due ready today, delay as front spokes wrong when delivered, bummer! Could be ready later this week if I am lucky. Have ordered some tkc80 tyres from Pneus (auto spell changed that to p*nis!) online that came in at £90, inner tubes on way, just need rim tape and my mate to get back from holiday to fit the tyres. Had a slight weep on expansion tank connection behind side panel, surprised as new hoses, remade and that seems cured. Ordered some 88 graphics as well, have to hide the bank statement when it comes🙄

No word on the wheels yet, still kicking my heels waiting. Tyres, tubes and rim tape arrived and all ready for fitting, new bearings waiting, destickered bike ready for new decals when they come. Frustrating waiting tbh not the most patient, but at least the weather has been poor so not missing out on too much0_1502050545771_20170806_211006.jpg 0_1502050566720_20170806_210901.jpg

Nice one for repairing the old Exhaust!

I reckon most stock end cans must be in the bin.
