Eyup lads, has anyone tried using a standard kickstart only crank in an electric start engine? I know the electric start crank is slightly longer on the stator side to accomodate the starting clutch, my thinking is if i used a spacer behind the stator the same thickness as the diffrence is length between the 2 cranks then it should work, my electric start has been decommisioned anyway, anyone done similar?

@dan28 no, assuming you mean the level sender in the oil tank, you can just unplug it and the bike will still run fine

@nottsbiker its not totally wrecked, has some pitting where the thrust washers are and some slight pitting on the stator side where the seal is, been running fine like that for 18 months, just wouldnt mind a new one next time i rebuild it

Has anyone managed to track down a new aftermarket crankshaft for the electric start models? Any help apreciated

My bike currently has a 3mb cylinder with 3bn head.. im told the 3bn head is restrictive?? Will i see a gain from fitting a 3mb head? Thanks

Has anyone ran there bike without the balance shaft? I read on a wr200 forum that it mad a big difference to that engine.anyone tried it with the 125?

@Calum ok mate thanks for the reply. Im adding a dep rear can and having the cylinder ported in the near future. And yes it is a ypvs model.

Does anyone know if this model has any restrictors such as a reed switch like tge later dtre/x electric start models? It tops out at around 75mph. Is that normal or can i get more from it by removing any restrictions if it even has any?? Many thanks in advance
