@declan The bearings on the old engine are squashed square somehow. Meh I really would just swap it for a 50cc moped right now lol I don't deserve this.

        Can we just stop lol.

ANY BIKE will give you hell if it's been treated like shit.

You can't blame a bike for an owners poor maintenance or understanding, okay maybe a Chinese bike.

But a decent like the DTR doesn't behave erratically for no reason.

I'm totally with @declan on this.

These DT engines are properly bullet proof. I can't tell you how much abuse I have seen these engines take. From seizes to bore wash, to even jet wash. I've seen a lot.

Open up a thread. Describe the problem and let us help.

Throwing money after money on this isn't going to fix the bike. Finding the problem will.

If the engine runs, the bore has compression, then the engine will start and ride fine.

Open up a thread, post the problem and I will answer it.

@ricky0115 Buying a Haynes manual is a very good investment indeed, they are a goldmine of useful tips to help you fix lots of problems. Anything mechanical will wear out and break down over time, poor maintenance from previous owners aids this greatly. If you are having difficulty diagnosing the problem, then just guessing and throwing money at it will ultimately not solve that problem. Having a sound-board like this forum is a well of experienced bikers, whom have a wealth of knowledge to assist you. However, sometimes it is better to admit defeat and get a reputable mechanic to fix the problem for you. Usually that works out cheaper in the long run, albeit dependent on what the issue is? Once the bike is running fine, regular maintenance will keep her purring!!! 😉

            SEDUCED BY THE DARK SIDE!!!

I never found those things any good. I just used carb cleaner and some elbow grease.
