2 stroke dB killers
-
My DT sounds really loud to me riding it, but like @Calum says, it doesn't carry. I've seen videos of me riding past someone and you can barely hear the bike lol
-
@Calum the only thing I’m suspect of is the header is a little mangled and I’ve tried to unbend it but not managed much, it sits in the exhaust outlet at an angle thinking of it it’s obviously my problem but I had the same thing on the dt and that wasn’t louder

2 stroke silencers are the simplest design of any silencer known to man, there is just a tube running straight through with lots of holes. If you could be bothered just drill every hole 1mm larger than they are and the best sound absorbing material is fibreglass loft insulation cut to the length of the perforated tube then roll tightly around to thickness of silencer. As you can see I went the complete opposite.lol

@2stroketerry haha that looks interesting for sure I think I’m gonna have to ask Santa for a pre owned header then re do the packing but as far as you know there’s no extra steps to make it quieter?

No thats how every 2 srtoke silencer has always been made apart from most are welded up.

@2stroketerry What was the outcome of your handiwork dude? Was the silencer quieter or something else???

@NINJA it would be louder as he’s covered up half the baffle holes so more of the sound travels directly out the pipe
