i use some washers for a total of about 1.5cm (0,6 inches). there are also the caps with adjustable preload out there https://www.ebay.it/itm/Preload-Fork-Cap-For-Yamaha-DT125-2004-2005-2006-41mm-Adjustable-Fork-Bolts/264595320406?hash=item3d9b1c2e56:g:R08AAOSw-E5djuOy

@autovictor Have you tried those???
-
@autovictor I'm intrigued to find out what difference they make???

@autovictor The vids are a bit 'waffaly' but the general consensus is that they do stiffer the front end, less diving on braking and they also improve cornering. So I guess that they are worth the money and a viable low cost upgrade;

@autovictor good call. I didn't know they even existed but I've now read a few reviews and it's all positive. About 20mm of adjustment and some nice anodised colours available. Apparently a noticeable difference and some cheap bling from around £15 upwards. Just added a pair to my shopping list.

i use the washers which are basically the same thing as the adjusters but more unconfortable to set, they do stiffer the suspension but especially on the enduro model (which i have) it's probably better to go with stiffer springs because you are not going to lose stroke. however for the gravel roads i do and a bit of enduro which is far from extreme i haven't got any problem, never went to the stroke end (i'm 65 kg, 143 pounds)
