    I was told that the new LED bulbs are a direct ‘plug and play’ replacement? It sounds too good to be true. Also the prices vary so much, I don’t trust them. Especially if they have the same beam pattern problems...

      I think they are integrated COBs now.

      So I don't think you need an adapter.

      At the end of the day, the DTR lights are horrific. The RE lights are bang on.

      Although my DTRE is a little intermittent these days, where I have been riding down a pitch black lane and switched to high beam only for all the lights to be switched off 😮

      Less than ideal!

        I used to drive an 850cc Mini that did that. It was the solenoid for the lights playing up. Worse thing was that the switch was on the ‘dashboard’, which meant you were groping around in the dark for a little switch in the middle by the speedo, which was under your knees!. Less than ideal and definitely not fun ☠️

          I am sure the switch just has mild corrosion on it.

            @Calum
            Do re lights run off of the battery? Dtr lights are so annoying, even with the battery connected the lights still flicker around at low revs. Even the taillight! The only things that seems to work are the indicators, brake light, horn and power valve. I thought the batter would ‘level out’ the lights. I’d like to know if you can run the battery into the lights circuit? Maybe with a diode? I wish I understood electrickery better!...

                I thought so, it was the only thing that could improve it. Unless the lense is different?...

                      I have an early 1988 type loom, the only lights that run off the battery are brake and indicators...

                      Anyone had any problems with using halogen bulbs? As opposed to the big round old fashioned bulb? (which the early Dtr uses) I just wondered if they can cause heat damage at all?...
