    2001 dtr supermoto
less than 250 miles on the full top end, plug is new.
starts 1st kick from cold rides mint just if its hot and you leave it off for 5 min or so it takes ages to start back up e.g. 15 or 20 kicks

can anyone shine a bit of light on this? cant think of a reason why it would do this

You're not leaving the choke on by accident are you?

You didn't use a cheap head gasket have you? Must buy either Genuine or Athena.

Did you fit the head gasket on the right way?

Was the head warped? Did you skim the head and barrel appropriately.

Has anything been changed altered recently? Has this just started out of the blue? Or been doing it since the top end?

@calum does the same thing with or without choke,
gasket is on right (athena), head was freshly skimmed and barrel was done by jim bailey at roadrunners with piston to match, cheers for getting back to me

@hclutch Could be a weak spark. Check to see that the HT Lead is fitted properly, that the earths are good. That the coil has the earth lead on it securely. Anything like that will not help.

Carry a plug spanner and the next time it happens shut off the fuel and remove the plug, then kick it over ten/ twenty times to clear it. If it starts ok let us know...
Also try putting the old plug back in, could be a defect...
I’d give the reeds an eyeball as well, just to check they’re closed...
