Has anyone ever upgraded the rectifier-regulator on any of the earlier DTR125’s?
From what little I’ve read early 80/90’s unit were pretty shit. Basically anything that runs the lights straight off the flywheel instead of through the battery via solenoids...Anybody addressed this issue? Know owt about mosfet units, or what is a quality upgrade? I’d really appreciate any input into this mystery

I think I put a chinese one on my RS and it caught fire. So definitely don't buy knock off.
Even the copy, which I thought was genuine cost £30 and the genuine one was £100+ so there is obviously a difference somewhere.

Never had a problem with them tbh so not looked into it
Definitely use a known good brand though
