Hi there am doing a restoration on a dt125x and am going threw the electrics and every thing is working ok part from the main head light, the bulb is ok was just wondering if the engine needs to be running for this to be working with it being a electric start, any help would be great before I start losing the plot...

On the standard CDI, the headlight comes on with the engine, then it stays on after the engine has been killed.

With the Zeeltronic ignition it is only on with the engine.

@Waggstar headlight runs off the stator not the battery so the engine does need to be running.

@markus-w DTX/DTRE works differently to the DTR.

My RE lights would run regardless of engine running, until I swapped out the Zeeltronic.
