Help im new to this bike but its costantly flodding any help where do i start ?

Obvious one for over revving is an air leak but if it's fine when cold, not too sure.

I have seen this before when the throttle is not shut off properly.

Make sure the cable is routed properly and the carb is completely shut. If it checks out okay then I wouls be looking at a leak somewhere. A can of WD40 will help isolate the problem. Spraying in the usual cases, carb inlet and left hand crank seal. It should idle properly for a moment when you soak the air leak.

No leaks or cables dodgy all new and tested it's idling fine just when I throttle it it won't pick up revs until I turn petcock off then goes fine until it empty then revs I turn tap back on it goes fine again and dose the same boggy full throttle but if I turn tap half way off the bikes perfect so I'm thinking too much fuel so how do I solve and check please help

I'll go and take pic of carb in 15 mins if that helps because I know it ain't the stock square ones I see it's a round screw kind

@rogering Choke isn't locked on is it?

Choke is fine mate I can see it open and close when I cleaned it out just seems like its dumping too much fuel in what would that be ? As I don't think it's the right carb for the bike tbh

@rogering Open up the air screw then.

It doesn't really mattee what carb you got, so long as it set up properly.

@rogering If it's just flooding turn the petrol OFF and crank it 10-12 times with no throttle. Then let it sit for 2-3 mins, then turn the petrol back on and start as normal. That should help get rid of the over fueling.

Verify that the float height is correct

I was going off float hight for a dtr when it was a Dt 2 mil difference and just realised the pod filter was batterd and was restricting air flow all good now cheers guys
