Forum Instability
-
Wow, there is always something else am I right?
This forum is really suffering from instability issues at the moment I have no ideas why.
I can't see anything in the logs to suggest that there is something wrong with the machine but I will continue to investigate.
I have ordered a new machine and new hard disk, so I will look to migrate the server to this very soon. The machine is also slightly faster so should be able to handle more concurrent users.
Sorry for the inconvinience guys I will do my best to try and resolve the issues we're having.
Kind Regards,
Calum

@Mightyman Yeah mate it's this PC. I have been doing updates and patches which is going to cause it be offline.
The updates are finished now. I've rebooted the machine, I'll keep an eye on it.
Worst case I have got a new computer for it, I will swap out the database if needs be.

"To be a champion, I think you have to see the big picture. It's not about winning and losing; it's about every day hard work and about thriving on a challenge. It's about embracing the pain that you'll experience at the end of a race and not being afraid. I think people think too hard and get afraid of a certain challenge." Summer Sanders

Yep, seriously broken now.
So I've swapped out the hardware to see if it is this that has gone faulty.
If this goes offline again then I know it's not the hardware and it might be the operating system.
If that's the case then this forum will be inaccessible this week whilst I rebuild a new server.
At the moment this is now running in "limp" mode so expect it to run slow.

@mightyman It was well utilised over four cores lol
It's actually higher spec than say a small AWS machine. It's very performant. However it's ARM and it's also running on an SD card which is a ticking time bomb lmfao.
I reckon it was the ethernet that burnt out. I might solder a new one on it and see if it works.
We're now running on a new Pi 3 so upgrade and ting.
