Update, I’ve now confirmed that the swingarm I have isnt YZ alloy. It actually free’s things up for me as @Darty that means I can bolt it on to a DT the exact same way you did your Deltabox. It’s from a special edition DT200WR. Took a lovely 22 year old chap from Costa Rica to explain it to me. (I’m going to try get home to join the forum as theres stuff he knows I couldn’t find anywhere, even on the old DT forum. He’s also hands down got the most bespoke NOS, OEM DT200WR you’ll ever see. Trust me it’s like a show bike, you’ll need tissues when you see it)
They weren’t sent to Australia, Canada and USA the same as the other 200’s and the instruction manual was only wrote in Japanese and to make it better Fowler’s doesn’t actually recognise that this particular iteration of the bike exists. It’s why on my build thread the dates I was listing for said relative bikes where all over the show and entirely inaccurate. The only info I had I’d got from old photos of bikes with when they where made so I initially thought this was the difference between them.
The reason why this gets confusing is because the only marks it bares are the same as 89-91 YZ’s. In fact the 91’ YZ swingarm is nye on identical and shares the majority of hardware.For anyone thinking of using the same swingarm as me or darty it’s worth noting finding the brake calliper then good luck. It’s one of the few parts I’ve actually struggled finding. The only reason I found mine was because after watching it on eBay for ages I clocked the 3xp stamp on the brake hanger/calliper mount on one of the pictures.
I found out from trying to use a YZ brake setup that the slides on the mount of YZ‘s are much wider then those on the WR. Something that would’ve been obvious if the information was there to tell me what I’d bought.
The interesting part of this is that women who listed the hangar said it was for a ‘91 YZ (half the reason I didn’t properly look at it). But that makes absolutely 0% fucking sense because after noticing the 3XP stamp I looked on Fowler’s and found that brake hangar is 100% unique to the dt200wr’s and wr200’s. Even more confusing is it was actually bought in the uk where we don’t have those bikes.
So the other night when i fitted the supposed “91 YZ rear brake” i got from eBay it was actually me finding out 100% that the rear arm I have is actually an even rarer 200 swingarm no one knows anything about. It’s worth mentioning at this point I hadn’t spoke to my friend from Costa Rica so everything up until that point was a mystery.
The only upside to what I’ve found out though is that you only really need to find the 3XP hangar. If you can find the hangar the hard part is over. The rear Nissin brake cylinders are the same as that on the YZ of the same years, I’m not 100% on what years but I could imagine having the same size rotor is a good reference. Not to hard to compare photos and make educated guesses. As I’ve preached before a massive bonus because YZ parts are always much more easy to come by and less expensive. If I was the buy the same calliper and mount again but searched “WR” instead of “YZ” I would’ve paid another $130.Also boys I’m going to try get around to updating my build thread with all this just to avoid any misinformation.

grey hairs and unhealthy sleeping patterns most likely hahaha. Honestly though, it pains me to say it and you’ll either laugh or cringe but the main reason I did it was just because I liked it. When I saw it pop up i was already looking at 4BF deltabox’s and early YZ units. The price wasn’t bad though whilst I thought I knew what I had it still good enough that I could cover costs out of it. Curiosity and the fact it was there got the better off me, not that I regret it now it was still a pretty good move. After all I realistically don’t yet posses the knowledge or understanding to make a YZ fit (it’d have also caused me backwards compatibility issues in the future with stock wheels/wrx sumo wheels) and regular deltabox’s where looking like they where going to cost over £140 before shipping or customs.... not all in vain though.

Weight savings (I’ve got YZ excel rims as well, so I’m trying to slim her down a little)
The ive always wanted a polished (as impractical as I’ve heard it is) swingarm and because it came 95% already sanded already I could polish it or give it a fresh coat of paint and have it looking brand new.
Also I’ve had a few sleepless nights recently and spending hours trying to find this stuff out has been the perfect distraction, especially during lockdown. It’s a pain in the ass trying to find things out but also really rewarding finally unearthing said info. It feels good being able to give something back to the forum and pay it forward. If it wasn’t for the site I wouldn’t have come across a 5 year old pic of darty’s bike on a google image search and thus possibly never bought a DT.

@Calum the dt200wr special edition swinger is alloy, sorry if I didn’t make that clear but it’s alloy and offers about the same if not better weight saving as the normal 4BF/3xp Deltabox.
Also I now know I could use the WR shock linkage in the future for better shock options or run the stock suspension linkage and use a shock that’d work based around that like Darty did

@Stevie-Wonder There are 2 swing-arms, one with Snail Adjusters, one without. All are Gen1 Deltabox designs.

its not like it’s the blue eyes blue dragon of deltabox’sFrancisco (Costa Rica), was saying that there’s a different version that came with the non snail adjuster. I’ll quote his message to avoid any confusion
“WR 200 - 4BF.
Made for enduro and differences are no lights, different suspensions, different electrical system, plastic tank, no rear pegs, it is premix, different carb... many other small changes.DT200WR.
Made for street, it is the same bike but it has metal thank, lights indicators, different carb, it has oil pump, has rear pegs.. etc.And your swing arm is from a DT200WR special edition.
It has different suspensions (softer and the front one came anodized in red, blue, and black)
It has different swing arm, light switch, DT200WR is 3xp code”

Pretty sure it’s one Francisco’s bikes. He actually says he’s a member on here but doesn’t post so I’m trying to nag him to post something for us to enjoy
