Dt 125re Right hand crank seal help

Hi I am having trouble installing my right hand crank seal. It seems far to tight. I got the left side in no problem tapping it into place. I have already broken one seal trying to press it in.

That's not right.

I believe the RHS must be done with the crank cases split.

So it's crank out, bearing out. I've done loads and never had any issues.

Does the new seal match the old one in terms of dimensions? They will be printed on the seal so that you can check or simply sit one on top of the other for a visual comparison.

Seals should not be that hard to fit but do require a full strip down

I think generator side can be installed with the bike in the frame. But the clutch side the engine needs to come out.

@Calum true - tricky to remove and I'd always do them as a pair along with the mains

You can use a self tapping screw to thread it into the seal and pull on the screw.

I did my mains recently and one of the seals was tight. I had to clean it up a bit with some really fine wet and dry, just to kinda deglaze it. Lite smear of grease on the seal and it went in easy. Don’t forget the right seal is one sided. It should have outer wrote on one side. Also it doesn’t go all the way in. It sits flush with the outer edge (or it does on mine 1988 3bn). It shouldn’t be a bear to fit cause it’s only the outer that’s touching anything, unless you left the spacer in the crank. You just need a longer tube to drift it...
