    Unfortunately, the 2002 models were heavily restricted. Even with the derestrictions you can still expect problems.

    Get yourself an aftermarket CDI and all those problems will go away and it'll fly through the gears.

    Looks tidy though!

            @kevb1967 no it's not restricted but if you have the 3rm-30 that is the best one, only available on the French models from 1999-2002 and apparently quite special and rare. Here's a link to a German website which explains the different CDI's. http://dtpedia.de/mediawiki/index.php/CDI_Steuerteile
            I don't think your problem is a restriction problem, only starting on full throttle from hot? Maybe fuelling or maybe compression? Sounds like your bike is a full power unrestricted french import.

                @kevb1967 I mean, it's a 125.doing 70 like that. Could just be gearing.

                    The 2000-2004 era were notoriously restricted.

                    Also appreciate that a lot of these bikes were ridden by youngsters weighing 60-70kgs.

                        @kevb1967 That's not a bad weight, I think I used to be super light, and I swear I got 85mph out of my DTR when I was 17.

                        Years later, £££ spent on tuning, I'm lucky if I can get 70 out of it. Yeah, I put on weight. My RS on the other hand flies!

                          @Calum losing weight is the biggest upgrade for performance

                              @kevb1967 it sounds like someone has fitted a Speedo drive adapter to it to convert from mph to kmh, it fits to the back of the clocks to change the gearing then the cable fits into it. Or maybe on the wheel end but mine was on the clocks. I bought one a few years ago for my nc30 jap import to convert kmh to mph and was quite an expensive bit of kit, cost me around £100 so if that is the case you could probably sell it if you can put it on eBay France or anywhere in Europe.

                                @Calum hi all i changed the front to a 15 now and its fine now does 68 in 5th and should rev out in 6th should do about 80 but haven't had a open road with out traffic, very strange to lower the std gearing would this been part of the restriction ?
