Yeah I heard not great things about Big One. DEP is a great pipe but the chrome doesn't last forever.

      So it's apples and oranges.

@Calum the chrome is horrid on the deps imo I saw a vertically bran new one for sale few weeks back not a scratch on it except a huge chunk of plating had fell off no rust or anything

@kevb1967 I run the big one with a dep rear or atleast I did I’ve recently switched to a stock front not ridden it yet so not felt the difference seems to run better and sound better though I’d imagine by the design the big one is useful way up in the rev range but mine is restricted so I’ll probably see better power with the stock one or atleast that’s my train of thought and I’m guessing the dep is better for bottom or mid

@Calum tbh all the dt pipes suffer they all rust in the exact place all the deps the big ones and the originals one thing I will say the original pipes are ridiculously over built they weigh a fair bit more than my 250s pipe but since my bike is dirt trim it kinda makes sense to have a thick pipe

Even with giannelli the weight difference was like 2kg

I have a Dep full system on my red Dt, and it's still like new. I am anal in maintaining it though, mainly because I knew it was flaky finish to start with. Not a cheap replacement so you would think they could at least build in some resilience to the finish. Does liven up the engine though.
