The barrel also needs to have P stamped in it, and I'm also led to believe that the 4FU is the best standard one to have

@nottsbiker No, the best barrel is the SP barrel.

I've never tried the 4FU barrel but certainly would be interested.

@declan I have owned one previously. It's about ensuring you have the right powervalve to fit also.

I am no longer working on DTRs anymore. I recently got the Athena 170 kit, but I am not tuning anymore. Just want to thump along on my little smoker enjoying it for what it is.

@calum yeah it's a lot simpler to slap on a bbk than to faff around with tuning and the 170 is usually the more sensible option anyway the dt is a good bike but a little heavy for the engine so bump up that torque a bit and I'd imagine it's a really capable fun bike

@declan Yeah, I only bought the 170 on a whim. I've had one before and wasn't overly impressed. But it was just something to.

I will say, lovely bit of kit for the money. I paid a similar price for my Italkit setup for my RS and for the money, you certainly get a lot. I haven't even fired up the Athena kit yet lol. Just been sat on a brand new engine for months. Probably should get around sorting that out to be fair.

                It’s a hard life! πŸ™„ 😜

There’s a 4fu on fleabay at the mo for Β£50. It looks like the top of the exhaust port is damaged though. I don’t know if you can resleeve Dtr barrels easily?

@spookdog The 4FU is nikasil plated, rather than a steel liner.

Yes I can imagine it is - good luck finding one though!
