      Has anyone else that pre~mixes their fuel suffered from reoccurring pilot jet problems? I’m wondering if the oil is in some way making a ‘fairy liquid’ kinda film in the pilot jet ...

      I’ve suffered from rusty tank syndrome for ages. Recently though I’ve fitted a better, cleaner tank. It took a few refills to flush all the jank through it and make it pristine, but it’s done and I’m still getting a semi blocked pilot every 50 miles or so. When I pull it there’s a thicker than neat fuel ‘liquid’ in there that is happening too much for me to think it’s water anymore 🤨

      I use Castrol racing fully synthetic 2T oil

        @SpookDog i use to use castrol to mix with fuel and if i didn’t turn my fuel tap off when leaving it for long periods like over night it use to sit on bottom of tank and leak castrol into carb an block all jets. I use to have to make sure i turned fuel tap off each night and give tank a real good shake in a morning before turning fuel on it did sort the problem. Might be totally different with yours but worked for me

          @SpookDog Use "Silkolene Comp 2" .Left months in tank no jet issues. 32:1 so use 1ml of oil to 32ml of fuel (32ml oil to 1L fuel).

                @SpookDog I am running 2% on Silkolene atm and I still think it's far too rich.

                But then it is overfueling at the moment...

                  @Calum

                  I usually judge the 2T oil by the spatter on the back of my number plate 🙂
                  That and what is in the ‘sump’ of the crank when I have the top end off, I look for a nice wet oil mark on the bottom of the crank when it’s turned 180• after resting a moment.

                  I’m at 50:1 at the moment and I think it would go as little as 60:1 no problems. Depending on the oil.

                  How do other peeps judge your oil?
