lights diming when brake aplied
-
with the new rectifier and battery it seems better but not been out in the dark yet but with it running a 6000 revs and looking at the front light while brake is aplied could not see it change but is was day light so dont mean to much till i take it out at night but hoping it was one of them and still need to test old rectifier too on the bench

@Calum and i was thinking about running leds for all the lights but not had time to look up whats best suited

@Calum said in lights diming when brake aplied:
@britshgigolo Nice one bud, thanks for updating us. Makes it useful to anyone else having similar problems.
Continuing reporting back to us as you find out more information.
Again I suggest applying the brakes and reading the voltage drop across the battery.
You can get SMD bulbs to go in for the brake and side lights. This may help reduce the load from like 15w bulb to 1w. May help.
I run SMD lights.
do you need to run resistors when running led bulbs
-
@britshgigolo You know it could simply be the battery is dying. Once the brakes applied the revs will be dropping and then its relying on the battery, which too might be dyig and thus the lights dim.

@britshgigolo No SMD. Surface Mounted Diodes. They already have the resistors on them. So they should just work out the box.
