@tdr125greg vapor on my dt and I love it. Makes me feel like I got a spaceship at night with the shift lights flashing in my goggles. Haven't ridden the bike for years but back when I was a kid
-
@tdr125greg The one I fitted to my MT-03 was SUPER inaccurate with the rev counter... I fitted it to the spark plug wire as the instructions mentioned but at 60mph+ speed the revometer would be all over the place, claiming I needed to shift all the time
-
@Calum I've been in talks with borut at zeeltronic, and I have decided I will definitely order the cdi and the programmer within the next 2 months. I've seen many varied experiences using the Rev counter but I'm assuming that's down to a bad install as I've also seen the Rev counter work great..
-
@tdr125greg Yeah don't take my experience as fact, I expected that it wasn't the norm.
-
@Mightyman Way back when, When I took my bike license before the law changed, I did it on my DT.
There is a bit where you must do national speed limit. Guess what? Vapor packed up. Looked down and I was doing 110 MPH I was like WTF! Bike only does 70 lol.
I have had glitches sure, but the norm is that it is spot on.
-
@Mightyman haha sorry man didn't mean to make it sound like I was roasting you lol..
These things happen don't they and I'm sure the way you done it is a method stated in the trail tech manual.
I guess Calum's way just picks the pulse up in a more accurate Manor -
No worries @tdr125greg Would have preffered connecting it up directly but when I specified the bike was an MT-03 they just sent me the kit that was to be fitted around the spark plug wire and told me to do it that way. @Calum that's mad, would have put me right off... I managed to just about do my full test on a YBR 125. It was a bit of a struggle to get it up to speed round the corners in the mod 1 though.
-
Nice one lads, so the moral of the story is wire it in and bobs your uncle
-
@tdr125greg Well as said I haven't ridden my bike with it wired into the CDI yet, since I haven't ridden my bike for years. But I had it wrapped around the HT leads and never had an issue.
In neutral there is a bit of lag between what the engine is doing and what the revs are. To be fair that's to be expected. But this isn't noticeable on the move since the engine isn't accelerating as much.

And here she is all stripped down,
Next thing on the to do list is custom fit the usd forks when they arrive
Followed by the fabrication of all necessary brackets etc.Once all the fab work Is done the frame the fork legs and other miscellaneous parts will be off to the powder coaters!!

@Mightyman thanks Bro , to be honest it's quite daunting but at the same time I'm amped.:-D
