I've got a seat cover from the guy who does the plastics in portugal, it's red with a white yamaha. Was originally going to do plain black until scrim mentioned a red seat cover. It does look like a good quality seat cover, but my eyes are very untrained in the world of seat covers lol

Yeah yeah I hear you. No I meant styling over quality lmao.

Yeah if you get oem look with a twist then that's a win

I am thinking for mine, oem seat cover with Yamaha cut out with another vinyl beneath it. But need to speak to a seamstress.

Haven't seen your bike on here in ages, nor your car for that matter. What's going on there?

What colours would you go for? Would look nice to have some depth in the yamaha rather than just printed letters

Did you ever see Nevs bike. Nev was a total artist and inspired me!

His colour scheme black and green. Also did a white and green one.

White vinyl seat cover. Then boom stitched in green yamaha. Looks sick. Possibly something you could do. White leather with red stitching.

Why settle for the norm when clearly your project deserves that something special.

Yeah am working diligently on my bike at the moment. Cars still om axle stands lmao just waiting.for the weather to pick up to work on thag.

Bikes back from the powdercoaters and the new engine is in. Got some custom bits made for it and have a lot of fabrication work needed for the rear. But should be possible.

I am.also incredibly busy with life so there is that too.

It's nice to just read other peoples builds to be fair.

Yeah Nevs black and Green dt and seikis white and red have to be my most favourite bikes, they were something else.

Well i'm kind of in a rush to finish the bike now, hoping for it to be on the road when i get paid at the end of this month, haven't really got much spare money to do anything with the seat cover. I'm happy as it is with the white yamaha sticker.

But it sounds like you're going hard at that bike, would love to see what you're doing. Unless you're keeping it secret for a big reveal? Hopefully i'll be able to start doing something a bit more special to my bike in a few months when money is a bit easier to come by. Maybe USD forks and a wr200 swingarm. Something along them lines and athena 170 with the ports corrected and zeeltronic. Plenty more things i have in the works for this bike.

Nah no secret I have taken the photos, just haven't had time to upload them. But it's very much similar to yours except black and red.

You're right not to worry about the seat cover. If you're serious about chasing the power then it may work well to use a 3XP0 barrel.

              I digress you're doing a great job.

Ah right, fair enough then! I look forward to seeing it.

I wouldn't say i'm deadly serious about chasing the most power out of it, just things that i can consider in the future. I must confess that i rode the bike around my street the other day to check it ran right. It sure does run good, scared me half to death when i hit the powerband. I have no servo so there's absolutely no power then it just pulled off in an instant. Plenty enough power in it for me at the moment, put a whopping great smile on my face too.

Thankyou though, never really saw the bike coming close to being finished

Non servo is fun. But slower when derestrited. But that feeling right there, thats why I love two strokes. Trust me when I say the dt is not a fast engine. Yet that little engine hits the band amd it cannot be compared to.

Go on a proper two stroke engine like the rotax series or the yz seried engines. Even the cr85 will shit you up. Fantastic bikes. I love two strokes. Amazing!

                  I will post this weekend!

Well the seat is now recovered, was a bit harder than expected. Got it done rather well though.

Got my parcel from wemoto today aswell, new flywheel cover. Was cheaper and easier to buy new than find secondhand. Grommets for the panels, rear brake switch and spring and a sprocket with 2 less teeth to help the rear tyre clear the swingarm for mot.

Neighbours were not too pleased, but stuff em. MOT time at the end of the month when my speedo and indicators are on!

Also my brakes seem to be rather feeble, hardly anything from the rear brake and front brake takes ages to slow me down. May have to be rebled however they seem to be pretty stiff as is, any pointers? Pads are brand new, however discs have a fair bit of surface corrosion from standing. Think they need some time to bed in

@ConnorDTR you should always bed in new pads on old discs. And vice versa.

                          They will require bedding in.

I found the brakes on my dt useless. Engine braking was thw only way to slow that down.

The thing I am most pleased with my bike is not the power, but the brakes.

@Calum Not sure how i'd get the brakes to bed in before the MOT, don't want it failing because of shoddy brakes. In the video near the end you can see how long it took for me to stop, that was giving it everything it's got. Must've only been doing 20.

I agree that the brakes are shoddy, not a match compared to the twin pistons my cbr125 had! And way worse than my car.

Think i've found the first upgrade!

@ConnorDTR decent set of pads and brake fluid. I have had it bad before. How bad I can't say.

Standard DTR brakes are a bit rubbish. You realise how old they are more and more. Defiantly get some Braided brake lines front and back, adds the feel you need over the standard hoses. Did you Vacuum bleed the brakes by the way?

Braking from 80mph on a DT sometimes feels like I need to stick my leg out as an airbrake, GP style... FUN. haha Not confidence inspiring.

My brakes were okay at best, EBC pads and discs were quite good.

Sounds nice and perky man! good to see it running well

                                Keep it real
