Hi all, I've sorta dropped off the radar for a while but you'll all be pleased to know that I've still got my old girl, even though shes not exactly looking her best at the moment. I've been meaning to post my build thread up on here so in the next couple of hours/days I'll begin to upload absolutely everything, have a noise ask some questions, its not a unique bike, but its mine and I've learnt a whole heap of stuff from owning her!

Throwing back to about 4/5 years ago. This was what I was working with. Its fair to say she wasn't the smartest bike about, particularly for its age, which for me wasn't a shame as I bought it with the intentions of doing it up!
This gives a better look at the bike, will be useful for a game of spot the difference later on.
Okay so at this point I had pretty much gone through the bike front to back and worked out absolutely everything that was wrong with it. The photos posted kinda show you whats going on but in short, the front forks were leaking pretty badly, the exhaust was blowing in multiple places, the electrics had been cut and shut to make the thing work, front and rear tyre were bald, rear exhaust can was scratched and there was a substantial dent in the swing arm.

I'm not sure how I managed this financially at the time but I sourced an original NOS rear end can, which for the price I was very pleased with! It might sound strange to revert back to original bits but there was so much wrong with the bike I didn't really know where to start.
Replaced the swing arm, between this photo and now I had it powder coated, so it looked really fresh however rust has taken over again and it'll need replacing pretty soon I reckon. I managed to source this off of an early bike 89,90 If I remember rightly!
Couple of nice bits from fowlers. Interestly there were many of these across the next three or so months!
This photo shows where the exhaust was blowing, on both occassions. At the time I wasn't a skilled welder so didn't bother saving this one.
Bought this for an absolute steal, I think I paid £10 for from my local scrapper, so was rude not to really. No holes and bolts straight up, thank you kindly!
After a bit of work I managed to get it looking like this, I was well impressed with my work on this one!
Fitted on the bike, beginning to look a little cleaner than she was. Notice the swing arm missing, this'll probably be away getting powder coated.
I remember pissing about with this for a long time, eventually why I went back to dep system, I liked what it didn't have which was this annoying bung.
Sorted out my mirror situation, I still run a very similar setup to this, couldn't be happier, sleak and does the job. The bars were eventually swapped for a black set that matched the bike a little better.
Swing arm back from the powder coaters, looking really smart. Couldn't wait to get this on the bike and get the dam thing back together at this point!
Jack up kit installed, I think this is the 2 inch set, I have been on and off with these I don't really notice the difference when I am riding so don't feel they are essential to this project.
Mocking up some sort of tail tidy, eventually I bought an R and G one, never looked back lol.
After the first overhaul here she is, looking very smart and very original. I was quite happy because up until this point I hadn't even ridden the bike once so I was itching to get out and ride the dam thing lol.
New bars and all of the original gear back on the bike. Bought new grips because I felt like treating myself. However these will be up for replacing soon as they're very nearly worn out after two years of use.
Finally back together and sitting pretty. This was the day before the MOT, she flew through with not a single thing wrong with her.

So I rode the bike for about 3 or 4 months with next to no problems until this happened.
Top end bearing failed and did this to the conrod.
It also did this damage.
So after rebuilding the engine I was back on the road in early September. This is what she looked like after the rebuild.
In the following February I decided to treat myself and get a DEP, good choice right?
After this I didn't encounter too many issues, only small things along the line.
Rear brake caliper went British on me and it seized up whilst I was riding. So I rebuilt it.
Spent a little money blinging the wheels out with some spoke wrapz, a bit like Marmite to some but I kinda like them.
After riding with a few mates who had DTx's I was itching for the Supermoto conversion. So I bought a front wheel off of an XT125X, this is what it looked like.
I was surprised as it pretty much bolted up however the brake caliper needed working out along with the Speedo drive.
So after some research I drove six hours for these, they were perfect, new tyres, new front disc and a Brembo caliper to go with them, awesome!
The next day I test fitted them, the rear wheel is bolt up, the front needed a little work but I couldn't wait much longer. This photo was the end of 2015.
