Does a rich pilot effect riding
-
@irongamer727 well the description of the carb says 38 pilot but it has a 50 in mine so Iโll just get a 38 like it should have and it should be good thank you for your time mate
@declan so it turns out the pilot was a38 I was looking at the wrong jet lol so I put the one out of the stock carb which iirc is a 32 and it only runs slightly better to get the power right I have to properly lean the af screw out but if I leave it ticking over it needs the smoke clearing out before it can ride even if I leave it for say 30 seconds Iโm starting to wonder if I over mixed my 2 stroke oil

@declan there's only one way to find out!

@declan a well, I mean if everything is installed correctly and the reeds etc are fine there shouldn't be a problem jetting it. Have you checked the spark plug? Perhaps it's the culprit?

@irongamer727 I put. A really old rusty plug in itโs yhe only one I had the bike starts first kick if I turn the af screw all the way in the bike dies as it should right?

@declan make it fair and change to a decent plug. When you turn the screw in you get a richer mixture. (Less air) give the entire carb a good clean.

@irongamer727 Iโve cleaned it out properly and yes clean plug will be got and fresh fuel tonight so I know I didnโt screw up the premix
-
Easiest way to figure out if its over fueling is to stifle the intake, if the problem worsens then you got too much fuel, if it improves then you haven't got enough fuel.

@calum I put a latex Glove over the snorkel it ran ok on idle but smoked loads and wouldnโt rev much it actually replicated the problem but on a worser scale so maybe the stock airbox is too restrictive? You can barely fit your pinky finger in the snorkel

@declan a latex glove! What??? Mate you justv want to lightly restrict the air flow not block it completely, you want something that breathes like a cotton sock.

@irongamer727 shhhhhh
@Calum yeah it definitely worsens the issue
