Frame Anodising

Everyone seems to get their frames powder coated, but after my mountain bike and current SuMo frames have both been powder coated, which has flaked off after 10 years, I'm looking at alternatives. Obviously there's paint which is durable and easy to repair. But I was thinking about getting my frame anodised. Has anyone done this before and what were your experiences with it?
Alternatively does anyone here currently work at or previously worked at a metal finishers and have some experience with anodising? And is it a good finish for a motorbike frame - Thanks.

Anodising steel doesn't really work , powdercoating is very durable, I've never known it to peel. Frame should be sandblasted and rust should be treated then acid etched before powdercoating

@calum I know you can but is doesn't really work well in previous experience, not very durable

Chrome or nickel plating might be worth looking at

Ok so i saw an image of a dt with a chrome swingarm online and twin exhausts a few years back and rang around every chrome plater around here and they wont do frame parts such as frames or swingarms as the preparation is too much and will not do it i did try talking them in to it

Hilarious, as I think like 6 months later he just let it rot. Basically, like some of us, he was more interested in the project than the final product.
That's probably up there with one of my all time favourite DTR's. It's a bit marmite, but I love the effert.
