    Hi guys,

Im in a negotiation with a rs 250 mk2 2001 diablo nero colours, but not in good condition and not working. bike has not worked for 8-10 years and have 15,000km. the bike have serious problems.

1- fairings need to be fixed in the front and right side, not a big deal imo. since i want make it a replica of vr46 mugello 99.
2- this one is tricky, bike was bought with credit, and the old owner only paid 6 months and left the country to Africa do Sul and never came back. so it means 2 things, or i pay his debt (around 6k, no need to say its out of my mind) or i can buy a new frame with documents and make legalization in my country (Portugal).

about the prices for frame with documents, i can find on germany for mk1 for ~1100€. since the frame is completly the same, i think i can make it legal.

i know this is risky, but its business it works like that sometimes.

What you think? it should work frame mk1 papers with the build of the bike mk2 ?

    Thank you!

@pedrobatista10 That sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen and a money pit for-sure. I would wait for a clean bike with a better history and save yourself the hassle!!! 😉

@pedrobatista10 2,500 could easily turn into 8,500 Euros if the credit company comes after you. Was the loan secured on the bike? Honestly 2.5k for a tarnished bike which does not work, is just not worth the hassle it will surely bring. Listen to your head not your heart on this one dude. 😉

@NINJA credit company is not the problem, since i will not buy the bike with papers. and the engine MAY be good, with just simple problems on carbs, etc.

            bike- 2.500€
frame with docs + legalization on Portugal - ~1500€
fairings - new fairings already painted in mugello 99 colours - ~700€(jim lomas) - 1500€ (tyga)

            engine work and small things - 800€ / 1300€

it will be around 6k for sure, but with that cash the bike will be already in the colours i want. and a good thing is that i dont need to invest 6k immediately.

but i get your point ninja, we need to think and ask opinions first, to try to not waste money. thats why i like to know opinions from people with more experience in rebuildings.

            thanks!

I wouldn't risk it personally. Just save and get a legit one.

@NINJA @Calum i think i will follow your advice's, because today i speak with a guy that work with importation of bikes/cars, and he told me that bikes before year 2001 its more difficult and expensive for make it legal, because need to make lots of tests and can take 1/2 months. and the frame i saw on germany is from 1996.

i want one so hard before summer, i will wait more 2 months if i dont find nothing good in portugal, im going to buy one from spain

@pedrobatista10 Wise decision dude, keep looking and your dream bike will one day appear. Getting one from Spain may be the better option for you and also save you some cash too??? :money-mouth_face: :thumbs_up_light_skin_tone:
