Brake Upgrades???

I was looking on the old forum, but a lot of the pictures posted on there are no longer visible for some reason. So I ended up widening my search to get more info.
I have alloy wheels on my wish list. I suspected that the stock rims are steel and as a long term cyclist I'm aware of the benefits of ali rims over steel. I have my eye on some nice alloy rims on ebay and discovered a UK company that refurbs motorbike wheels, so I was gonna get the new alloy rims and re-use the existing hubs. I have seen lots of very sexy ali aniodised hubs, but there not that cheap. However new hubs would probably open up the door for a wider choice of discs I guess?
What size hubs would I need and which hubs would you recommend please???

@CYBER-NINJA I'm looking into a custom wheel set-up starting with YZ Talon hubs. I'll let you know what I come up with.

@Darty These rollers any good bud???

@CYBER-NINJA please don't buy those. They are way too cheap.
Usually wheels are expensive with good reason.
Naaaah. They are grose

Have a go on these -

@Calum @Darty They look nice and shiny, but I wasn't sure about the quality? Thanks for the advice and links.
I am going to keep with the Enduro/Adventure bike look and stick to a 21/18 set-up. I'm an old school BMXer and later on a mountain biker. I always hated black rims with black tyres, the manufacturers went all black for a few years and I luckily had the for-sight to buy a few pairs of skin-wall tyres beforehand, so I never had to go without my favorite rubber. It's Old school skin-walls everyday for me, but sadly with motorbikes the never made skin-wall tyres. I'll keep my eye out for some sweet looking chrome rims and anodised hubs. I'm guessing that Excel, Talon's and SMPro are the one's to have? Maybe some MX rollers will appear on ebay for me some time soon??? LOL ;O)

Here's a few pics of the Kyoto Discs and EBC Red stuff pads fitted. They do improve the braking for-sure. With extra bite and shorter stopping distances, the brakes now feel a lot better and give you more confidence whilst riding. They are an upgrade on the stock set-up, but it's not a dramatic improvement as you will need to swap the forks and wheels for that. But an upgrade for better braking and shorter stopping distances is well worth it, even if it's only enough for you not to swallow ya balls every time you have to stop suddenly!!! LOL ;O)

I bled my brakes today and swapped out the old fluid for some DOT 5.1. I can happily report that there has been a further improvement in the brakes with a more stable feel to them. With even more bite and shorter stopping distances too. The brakes now feel a lot more secure and inspire more confidence when riding for-sure!!! ;O)

My bike came with braided lines, so now it's only the calipers which are stock.
There's a couple of dudes selling the Kyoto Wavey discs on ebay, they do give the bike a more modern look for-sure. I got mine from this guy;

And my bike also had fork gators on it when I bought it. I hate them as the look ugly and always look dirty too, so I cut em off ASAP!!! :O)

I am running aprilia rs125 brakes and they are unreal! Four pot calipers on the front and dual on the rears. Stop on a dime.
I am also running an Aprilia rsV mille mastercylinder which was needed to pressurise the system. No modifications necessary for that one and that would improve the braking effect.

@xgaryx209 Any year will fit after you have made a custom caliper bracket. Sadly that is the only way any other calipers will fit the DTR hub/disc/caliper combo.

@NINJA True, but I'll take my hat off to you if you get any caliper post 05 to fit
@Dt-r_Bradders Was using that setup, but I don't think he ever finished it,
