Don't find the suspension on the red bike wanting TBH, ordered new seals and bushes Inc oil. Probably stick with the originals and change later if I feel I have to.

Have ordered the jet needle I need 3 times now (fowlers, csmnl, yamaha France) and each time after a few days have elapsed receive a message saying not available and refund issued (all advertising for sale). Tried Allen's with no joy and only option is aftermarket one for TZR125 same era, one digit off correct part no compatibility. Any suggestions? Mikuni round slide btw.

Tried yamaha UK customer services and last one listed as sold in 2013!. Did order aftermarket kit for tzr from Wemoto that lists needle jet one digit off dt one, still waiting for that 1 week on. Will keep looking but only hope seems to be picking up nos one on eBay eventually, or complete new carb from csmnl for lots of dosh.

@NINJA trying for new to be honest, had some s/h bits already that are below what I wanted. My reasoning being if it's new as specified it can't be wrong, too fussy that's my problem!

Have not posted an update for a while, progress is slow (its summer!) Forks rebuilt and calipers prepared, headlight, instruments and handlebars fitted, loads of other small jobs done. Waiting on brake caliper piston and bleed nipples. Wheels need rebuilding soon so need to sort a decent pair for that. Finally received a carb needle that should do the job (tzr), ordered correct one 3 times from different suppliers and refunded 3 times when they did not have one. Pictures to follow.

@oldman Looking good bud, did you respray all those shiny black parts yourself???

I did, acid etch primer, top coat x 2 and petrol resistant laquer then baked in my greenhouse for a week. Handlebars and side stand powdercoated though.

Thats how they were in 88 endurance blue btw, all black trimmings. Received pics from Yamaha customer services, they were pretty helpful tbh, sent me service manual too

Well wadayano, csmnl found the needle jet kit I needed after all, finally arrived today so that's to be done. Have sorted wheels to be done, just need to strip them down before sending off. Otherwise progressing well, filled all the fluids and changed the powervalve motor (laboured when I powered up the bike). Might be finished before Christmas if the wheels don't delay me.

This is definitely the last dt I am doing, have a tdr250 waiting to be done. Have used all genuine Yamaha Parts where they have been available so it's cost a small fortune, even brake lines are genuine new. It has cost far more than I thought as I underestimated how much was missing. All bodywork is genuine new including fuel tank, will be as close to a new 88 dt as I can make it. Will I make any money on it? Never

@oldman Don't say that. Your builds are special. Its not all about money. Its almost like giving something back to the world. These are dying off and you just aren't seeing them like you used to.

I have jusy bought another project, it's not going to make money. But it will be nice to put another bike back on the road for someone else to enjoy.

Santa made another visit to my house today and brought me a genuine Yamaha seat cover in black for the endurance blue build , now do I use an old seat base or sacrifice a nos seat in Mint green I have had for years? Answers on a postcard.
