Thanks Calum, it was via Google - Scrim's post about his project that got me here, his had a dark grey seat which has added to my curiosity. Well spotted with the "electric" I hadn't seen that. Mine's a UK bike that I found in Spain & that teal seat & gaiter combo would be my choice if it was a factory setup.

Hi all, first post & great forum. Have a 92 barn find (8 miles since 1996!!!) and decided on a nut&bolt resto. I can't work out the correct colour scheme as bits missing and/or have been replaced. I've found 3 photos of similar but not sure if they are factory setup or have been customised. Any idea or suggestions on the best choice? I'd like to keep it as original as possible.
@Phil-k hello and welcome. I had similar problem when I bought mine and I emailed Yamaha, marketing@yamaha-motor.co.uk explained I want to put it back to the original state that it left the factory but couldn't find any history on it and the emailed me back with the original colour, country of first registration (France). Also I was having difficulty matching a wiring diagram and for that they forwarded my email to their tech department. Tech.service@yamaha-motor.co.uk who pointed out that though my bike was registered in 2000 it was manufactured in 1999 which explained a lot and they emailed me a wiring diagram. I found them very helpful just explain your predicament and give your vin number. May take a couple of days to get a response off them.

@markus-w Thanks for that Markus, I've emailed Yamaha so see what they come up with. The body shop reckon they can get the colour right with their scanner so maybe that'll sort it.
