And again I only have a 2Mb upload so sharing videos would be horrible!

@Mightyman Should be able to, the browser should decode HTML5 videos natively, so long as the video is properly encoded there is no reason why it can't.
But YouTube will encode it in a format that the website likes, so YouTube is the easiest option, but it's not the only option.
