Mine were the same when i bought it. I chased it for weeks, leening out the whole carb before i looked at a parts fiche.
I knew right away what was wrong when i saw the missing washer.I think its just easy to misplace that one.

-
Okay I'll give it a go as don't really want a bike with no steering lock lol as where I live the bike theft rate is ridiculous
-
@vtrn_raptor that's why my bikes in the kitchen
-
I have 2 in my kitchen and a cr500 in the bedroom
-
hahaha @andrewj1680 that's just how its meant to be I remember seeing bikes get built and kept in the house from as young as I can remember seen car be built in a house too but not ours
-
@andrewj1680 if I owned a cr 500 I'd have it in bed with me making sure it's warm lol but serous question those things can't be light how do you get it up the stairs I couldn't imaging getting a pitbike up then never mind a beast

I wouldn't worry about a steering lock too much. Theives break them with little effort. In my opinion the best cheap theif deterrent is an alarmed disk lock. Nice and small to take around with you, but packing a loud enough siren to wake yourself / the neighbors up.
