Inspecting powervalve
-
Okay. I posted earlier about a rattle noise coming when the bike is revved a bit.
I have spoken to several mechanics and they believe it's the powervalve rattling a bit. The powervalve on mine is OPEN. So to the question. How do I remove the pv? Simply unbolt every screw on each side and them pull the pv out? -
The only way it will rattle is if the Orange o rings are missing or perished.
To remove you take off the end caps and pulley if fitted. To undo the central pulley bolt you need to lock the bobbin in the exhaust port some how. I use the wooden handle of my hammer to achieve this. Be careful when you pull each halve out that you don't drop or lose the two pins that go either side of the main bolt.

WD40 and scotchbrite clean them up really well
