Inner tube question

Finically done my tyres took for ever but I put a 90 tube in a 120 rear tyre it pumps up and seems to be fine maybe need to let more air out is it okay or will a jump cause my rear wheel to explode and blow me into a million pieces

My guess is the tube will be stretched to fill a larger profile than it was designed for, making the whole weaker and more prone to failure. Personally would not use it like that, for the sake of a new tube why put your safety in question? Sorry to put the kibosh on your day but would always be at the back of my mind when riding if it was me.

Get tubeless tyres and not worry about it

@declan As @oldman said, it may last a short while, but you are over stretching the rubber which will fail in time. Heavy duty tubes can be found on ebay for £10 or less.

@ninja I have one just don’t want to fit it I hate changing tubes I’ll just run it for a while

I would just change it if it pops while on road then good luck and if it pops offroad might be looking for a new wheel
