Does a rich pilot effect riding
-
Hi my am6 is running decent but it doesent like to tick over on it’s own and it’s struggles to climb revs off the line but if the revs are highly it goes fast the main should be about right the a/f don’t do much the needle helps a little bit I’ve run out of notches for lean it kinda seems rich in the low throttle

You run it tuned? What carb?
-
The idlejet is always flowing, so although its small, it will provide fuel over the entire rev range, but it will mean less and less for overall performance as the rpms rise.

@irongamer727 17.5 phb if I recall it’s not genuine I took the geuniune off this one is naraku

@declan stock 50cc with different exhaust?
I doubt you will have to mess with the pilot jets. Put the stock jet in, make sure the reeds are okey and only bother with the main jets and possibly the needle. -

@declan also the genuine jets are different so I’ll have to see if the seller will dock me a jet or I’ll just buy one since there pennies 50 is a big jump right?
@declan could be, different manufacturers use different scales. I would change to stock. What is the big issue? Isn't it running well?

@irongamer727 I can tell it’s running rich struggles to rev cleanly mainly from no revs to about quarter it splioges oil out the rail pipe and develops a littl splutter when coming off the gas and also struggles for Lower down power

@declan allright, I think a smaller jet will suffice.

@irongamer727 well the description of the carb says 38 pilot but it has a 50 in mine so I’ll just get a 38 like it should have and it should be good thank you for your time mate

@declan so it turns out the pilot was a38 I was looking at the wrong jet lol so I put the one out of the stock carb which iirc is a 32 and it only runs slightly better to get the power right I have to properly lean the af screw out but if I leave it ticking over it needs the smoke clearing out before it can ride even if I leave it for say 30 seconds I’m starting to wonder if I over mixed my 2 stroke oil

@declan a well, I mean if everything is installed correctly and the reeds etc are fine there shouldn't be a problem jetting it. Have you checked the spark plug? Perhaps it's the culprit?

@irongamer727 I put. A really old rusty plug in it’s yhe only one I had the bike starts first kick if I turn the af screw all the way in the bike dies as it should right?
