Anyone know if you can remove the trip reset knob on the speedo without breaking in to speedo? Managed to pick up another speedo with very low mileage but knob missing. This is for the next rebuild and don't want to ruin a good speedo if I don't have to.

Its threaded in somehow, probably glued afterwards.
Mine was missing and I made something up, but I remember seeing fine threads

Don't want to break open old speedo to try and remove knob, have the part no but not available where I have looked so far. Could live without it I suppose but sooner have it. Will keep looking , can't bring myself to ruin a usable part

@oldman you could easily make a nice looking little knurled trip knob out of some aluminium on a lathe?
          Might look pretty trick

Found a nos trip knob after all, pushed on and glued, nice new speedo now with a decent spare should I need it, only 384 miles showing, for the endurance blue one when I get started. No time soon as dt250mx engine out for rebore, did pass the mot though!
