Why are some clutches hard and some easy?

I have a 2000 Honda Hornet 600 which I'm trying to give a lighter clutch. I've bought a brand new (original) clutch cable that runs really smooth. The clutch pull did become a little better but still harder than I'd like.
How come newer bikes even with wire cables are so light you can pull the lever with one finger? It feels like the clutch springs should get softer and not harder over time. Ideas?

Newer bikes come with more clutch plates and more clutch springs, which means the clutch springs dont need to be too strong in order to handle the torque. Older bikes run strong springs with fewer plates(For example the DTR engine im building im going for Bandit 400 springs to handle the torque because it doesn't have that many plates)

@DanRacing Surely but I still doubt this Honda came like this from the factory.

@Irongamer727 I rode a hornet 600 and it's pretty hard stock.
