@markus-w cheers pal I hope itโ€™s going to look quality the money Iโ€™ve spent so far ๐Ÿ˜‚, it is a 200 e engine yes unsure what the stock size from the factory is tbh or if itโ€™s been bored out or anything

@mhbikesnbits I've just done the maths on it. A standard 200cc barrel is actually 195cc (65.98mm piston) a 68mm bore would make it 207cc so a difference of 12cc. Should be quite noticeable.

This gets the rattle can treatment itโ€™s only for holding a pipe ๐Ÿ˜‚

Bit sloppy tbh compared to other things but going to go with a silver paint, may get one later down the Line powder coated, just want to get that engine in the frame asap

When we had a nice bout of sun the other day I sat in the garden, and started the lovely job of polishing the lower triple clamp.

Pictures donโ€™t really show the finish very good looks far better in person

I started with 200 wet and dry and worked my way up to 1000 and finished with a hand polish of some mothers and mag.

The top of the clamp is black powder coated

          alt text

Once the engines dropped in I can get the clamps in because the weight of them will probably drag the frame over now.

My next task will be probably getting all the handle bars in the and switch gear. Iโ€™m going with some pro taper gear for the handle bars.

            @mhbikesnbits

It definitely warrants better treatment! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Poor things always seem to corrode under the pipe, before the clamp...

            But yeah! Bung it on!!...

PS. You gonna lacquer the bottom yoke?...

Bottom yokes have come up nicely! It should hold its shine for a wee while but it's always the way with those things.

The pro taper handlebars are nice to be fair.

@mhbikesnbits still won't take long to lose the shine. Lacquer would work well. It looks really good polished and I really don't want to come across like I'm picking but would it not look better with the top and bottom yokes the same colour? IE both black with the chrome forks? Personal preference I know but I'm trying to picture it in my head.

@markus-w maybe this will give you abit more of idea what it would look like,

I have a little think about the lacquering and my only issue is paint doesnโ€™t like smooth surfaces so would it end up getting lacquer peel ?

@mhbikesnbits yes I know what you're saying about peeling because that would look awful. I polished my brake calipers and opted against lacquer for that reason. But I realised after that they use lacquer on alloy wheels on cars, not sure which lacquer but that doesn't peel.

Not sure about the silver, I have seen them on the standard silver engines but in black and they look good so I thought I would inverse that.

Think I will get one done in black powder coat

Spent the day tidying my workshop and doing some work on it and managed to pick this little beauty up for ยฃ20 which will help with the maintenance work and other stuff.

Hopefully Iโ€™ll manage to drop the engine on the frame over the Easter weekend
