Headstock bearings question
-
The bottome yoke has a taper roller bearing. The cup is interference fit into the frame, the roller bearings are interference fit onto the stem. The two tighten together. Be sure not to over tighten the triple clamps.
-
@Calum I gotcha, but the cup moves if you touch it that said the cups new all the bearings are new there’s no play at all abs it’s smooth as butter I call this one good
-
Mine have all been hard to remove and secure when fitted, have you measured it against a known original. Will promote wear in frame seat if allowed to move even slightly
-
@oldman it’s hard to say it looks like they were all changed together unless someone damaged one and had another lying around
-
@declan How much is a new set? If in doubt it would be wise to replace them, if nothing more than just for peace_of_mind!!!

-
@NINJA only 20 pound but a bit of a ball ache to install when I have the money I’ll buy a set and just swap the bearing race out probably after it’s built up and finished though
