Today I changed the rear tire.
The rims are not good. WR's are known from rotting rims on the inside. I dont really want to change them, as I just keep bending them with my style of riding and the rocks/leftover parts from cut trees I sometimes bump on. Also there is a new small crack on the rear rim.

Of course I cleaned up the aluminium dirt before installing a new tire

This is a mud/loose surface tire. Getting ready for the autumn CC championship next month!
Unfortunately I had some problems today, the spark plug failed and the engine died. Good thing is that I always carry a spare plug with me when I go riding. But I wouldnt want that(engine dieing) again! Will try to sort that out.

    And of course, the vid:

@challenger Ouch, I'm sure that wheel can be welded up though, unfortunately, cracks just get bigger 😞

@challenger honestly you are better off getting a set of decent rims those rims are past it now and clearly aren't the best of rims to begin with rims are pretty in expensive for nice ones

Hmu bud I’ve got a rim off a TTR 250 in my garage I’ve been putting off selling. It came of a late model bike so I’m assuming the rim will be updated design. Uses same hub as our bikes so all you’ve got to do is punch the bearings out Chuck some of yours in and be on your way

This year I took part in the Classic Cross-Country race again on my WR200.
It was a lot of fun and a great competition.
I was 2nd in EVO class again, lost to the guy on a '90 CR250, the same one who won last year. He made a comment about the WR lacking in the suspension area which is totally true.
There was a new guy riding a ~`85 RM125. He was quite fast, but not as fast as me 😉

And for the 6 times I competed on that track on my WR, in different types of races, I have 5 trophies. Thats quite good, although I never won! Always 2nd or 3rd

This summer I took my WR to 3 different MX tracks. It was a great week with guys, we planned it before, and every day meant different track.
Of course WR200 is not made for motocross. Front forks are the biggest drawback. They were often bottoming out, still seemed too soft, even tho I have stiffer YZ springs installed. Rear was ok.
I had to dismout the side stand, as it was flapping so much, that it worn the mount on the frame. I also installed MX style fender, without any taillight.
I did not have much experience on MX tracks, but started learning quickly. I liked the 1st and 3rd track, the one from 2nd day didnt suit my skills nor the bike, and I dont have any pics of my own from that one. I plan on going to 2 more tracks this year and make a video at the end called WR200 on MX tracks.
So far, here are some pics:
                1st track:

Today we had a great fun in the gravel pit with guys. WR brings attention as it is an uncommon bike, phrases like 'doesnt die on the climbs' or 'sounds nice, wish I had that sound in my 250cc KTM' are common 😛
Unfortunately, I got back home with a flat tire, for the first time in my ownership of this bike. Some nail got into the tub and it lost all the pressure.

And a great vid of a guy on '91 XT600 who slighly over-estimated the bike's ability for jump qualities 😛

                      @Challenger

Bike looks ‘well planted’ or that is a serious flat rear! 😜

I always keep a little 300ml can of Holts tyre weld in my tool bag now. After I managed to limp 30 miles home with a nail & a thorn I’m my back tyre! Rim locks might not help but give me a warm & fuzzy safe feeling as well. Just in case I do have to limp a few miles with a flat 🥴

                            Greetings from Germany
