Rubber stator gasket
-
Hello guys, I've been running into issues with my stator flywheel set up I'm running a 3 coil tzr style stator and flywheel on my dtx engine, and the flywheel at times seizes against the coils which isn't ideal so I ordered a thick rubber athena gasket to space the coils out a bit and that seems fine now but my issue is the gasket gets squished too much when tightening it down since it's just rubber, from looking at the diagrams there's special bolts for the rubber gasket are those what I need?

@declan Never seen that bolt personally. I am not sure how accurate photos are to the actual part.
Just because it looks knurled in the photo, doesn't mean the actual part is.
I'm not familiar with CMS so not sure how they operate. But looks like an odd bolt for sure.

@declan those are the exact bolts for the cover but more importantly there is rubber cup washers which cup the head of the bolt and cushion it. On mine the screw heads were mashed and 3 of the rubber cups were missing so I replaced them with standard Allen key bolts and pound shop rubber o rings. works perfectly.

Speaking from experience CMS is very accurate, I’ve used it a lot over the years and never found a fault
Brilliant site that’s saved me loads of time cross reference part numbers and helped me out a lot having photos of individual screws, bolts etc etc
It’s my understanding they use the same database as Fowler’s (a more comprehensive one at that since there’s way for info on foreign bikes there that Fowler’s etc doesn’t have, ideal if you have an import).
If you’re worried, don’t be. Id trust them 100%

Do you have the aluminium RE type cover with the coils bolted into it?
Those bolts are for the early plastic cover...
If you have the ally one I’d try double or triple normal gaskets and sinch it down with normal bolts. The rubber will be to flexible and let the coils move/flex maybe...
