Differences in bolt
-
Is anyone able to tell me the difference between these two bolts? (Without stating the obvious lol)
https://www.cmsnl.com/products/bolt-1_5ny23346l0/
They’re both pinch bolts, except ones for the WR and another from the DT. My only conclusion is that they’re identical except the WR’s are recessed for weight saving.
The two odd bolts on my triple tree’s are actually WR pinch bolts. I’m now wondering if it’s worth replacing all of the DT pinch bolts with the correct WR ones or am I being OTT?

Another reason for asking is CMSNL would charge an eye watering £80+ for a set of 10 of these bolts (4 for upper yolk, 2 for lower yolk, 4 for axle pinch bolts)

YAMAHA XT225 XT350 WR250 WR450 TTR250 GENUINE NOS TOP YOKE BOLT - # 95027-08040
Now this one doesn’t look any different? Maybe the ones on my bike are WR bolts

I’ve slightly answered my question
Wr top yolk uses 9502708040 x4
Lower yolk uses 5NY23346L0 x8 (4 for top yolk and 4 for axle pinch bolts)

As long as the thread diameter and length are the proper size I don’t think it matters. The ‘recessed’ ones look better quality to my eye. But in all honesty I think that you’re overthinking the situation …

@SpookDog I wasn’t sure if there’s a reason or something from an engineering standpoint that maybe I didn’t know
I was deffo overthinking a little to be honest, I’m just hellbent and getting everything done right even down the very last detail like what bolts go where

You’re right. The recessed ones might be stretch bolts, hence the price. If they are you’re supposed to replace them each time…
