    Hello, I just got my bike and i'm from Quebec, Canada. Its not a DT125R but his big brother the DT200 1991 thats is in some need of attention.

    Got the bike with 9000km on it, Spray can paint job, and strip / used as a dirt bike for the last 10 years or so.

    Currently i have most issue figured out. getting ready for inspection in a few weeks.

    Just need to install the headlight and switch, put the plastic back together and should be ready to go.

            Thanks Guys! Got it fired up yesterday, Should be all done Tomorow. Except now it seem to have a air leak somewhere... rev goes crazy on its own... will have to figure that out.

              @pelplouffe Obviously, inlet manifold check, it's advised to use a new inlet manifold gasket.

              Check that there are no splits in the carb boots or inlets. That the boost bottles are fastened correctly.

              Worse case scenerio it's the generator crank seal. Although that can be replaced without splitting the cases. It's the cluch case that needs splitting.

                Will be working on th this morning. at lease to pin point what it is. I also seem to have a small oil leak from the powervalve. which i taught maybe could be this.

                  @pelplouffe It won't be this.

                  You can get new powervalve o rings.

                  Don't know where separately, probably Yamaha, but Athena do gasket kits and they come in those.

                    Dependant on the size, your local plumbers merchant or DIY store will be able to supply you with the O ring. Which will be quicker than waiting for your local Yamaha dealer to order one in for ya. I had a similar problem with the fuel tap leaking on my DT, as the O ring had perished and fuel was dripping out. So I was able to get a replacement O ring from my local store. 😉

                      Just gor my new fuel tap from the dealer last week... cost me like 75$. which is why i try to order most stuff off ebay.

                        Welcome to the forum! Nice to see the bike over there! A wealth of knowledge on this forum so between us all we should be able to help with any issues that arise.

                        WD40 sprayed around the inlet whilst running should help track down the air leak. If it's been sat for a while then could be the crank seal on the generator side.

                        Check those sus linkage parts and make sure you grease them up. A big point of failiure for our yearly inspections over here.
