@tdr125greg vapor on my dt and I love it. Makes me feel like I got a spaceship at night with the shift lights flashing in my goggles. Haven't ridden the bike for years but back when I was a kid

wrote on 28 Feb 2017, 22:38 last edited by@tdr125greg The one I fitted to my MT-03 was SUPER inaccurate with the rev counter... I fitted it to the spark plug wire as the instructions mentioned but at 60mph+ speed the revometer would be all over the place, claiming I needed to shift all the time

No problems with rev counter on mine, it's wired directly to the coil

@finnerz89 Never had any problems with the counter myself.
On my new build it csn be wired directly to the cdi

@finnerz89 Yeah I believe it's the green/yellow wire that will pulse when the ignition fires. So no need to wrap the HT lead you can just wire it directly to the CDI.
I would double check the wiring diagram first mind you.

wrote on 1 Mar 2017, 10:54 last edited by@Calum I've been in talks with borut at zeeltronic, and I have decided I will definitely order the cdi and the programmer within the next 2 months. I've seen many varied experiences using the Rev counter but I'm assuming that's down to a bad install as I've also seen the Rev counter work great..

wrote on 1 Mar 2017, 12:22 last edited by@Mightyman Way back when, When I took my bike license before the law changed, I did it on my DT.
There is a bit where you must do national speed limit. Guess what? Vapor packed up. Looked down and I was doing 110 MPH I was like WTF! Bike only does 70 lol.
I have had glitches sure, but the norm is that it is spot on.

These things happen don't they and I'm sure the way you done it is a method stated in the trail tech manual.
I guess Calum's way just picks the pulse up in a more accurate Manor -

No worries @tdr125greg
Would have preffered connecting it up directly but when I specified the bike was an MT-03 they just sent me the kit that was to be fitted around the spark plug wire and told me to do it that way. @Calum that's mad, would have put me right off... I managed to just about do my full test on a YBR 125. It was a bit of a struggle to get it up to speed round the corners in the mod 1 though.

It's the same cable whether you wrap it around the HT lead or wire it up to your coil. I went with coil as it seemed more reliable and accurate. Had the bike stripped at the time so it was no hassle to do.

wrote on 1 Mar 2017, 19:14 last edited by@tdr125greg Well as said I haven't ridden my bike with it wired into the CDI yet, since I haven't ridden my bike for years. But I had it wrapped around the HT leads and never had an issue.
In neutral there is a bit of lag between what the engine is doing and what the revs are. To be fair that's to be expected. But this isn't noticeable on the move since the engine isn't accelerating as much.

WE ALL LOVE IT WHEN THE MAIL MAN BRINGS US PARTS!!!!!!!
So today the aprilia MX forks arrived and dude was I happy to see that parcel
I got straight to the task of unpacking and a tedious moment or two later I soon had my grubby paws on the contents.
A few comparisons...
I soon dug out the X front wheel and mocked that together.
didn't Realise the forks where Marzocchi's
I'm made up!
I then mocked the clamps on the frame just for a a wee glimpse.
(so excited I put the legs on the wrong way round Hey Ho)
