Road legal dirt tyres.
-
Hi guys I'm after some recommendations on some dirt tyres.
They need to be road legal but the main use is intended for forest/green lanes.
Size I'm looking for is 100/90/19
Any suggestions?
Thanks

@gareth_iowc just find some decent tyres and cut the NOT for road use of so it says for road use and stamp a triangle on the tyre job done mine always passes its mot with no bother

What are like like on road? I was told they are dangerous due to then spacing of the rubber?
-
@gareth_iowc Bumpy lol. I used to run Continental Offroad tyres. Used to get them ex race for a fiver. Would only last a month or so. Used to kick the back end out round corners though, which was fun.
ThT is the thing with sumo setup, too safe.

I did have a look at the Michelin AC10?
-
@gareth_iowc Yeah I faintly remember people using those.

@gareth_iowc I've got some part worn ac 10s on mine at the mo! If I'm honest haven't ridden my Dt a lot but they seem durable and also grippy on and off road

Thanks @Bentley.
What size is every one running on the front?
I've current got:
Front 90/90/21
Rear 90/100/19I can't find a set that matches that. I can find an 80/90/21.
I can get road legal 90/90/21 but I would have to have mis matched tyres. Is that aloud?

@gareth_iowc I'll have to check tomoz!
I think they're fairly generic, by that I mean Ac-10s don't vary much in width/profile! As long as you have the correct size.
Mine are 18Rear 21Front
Does that help at all? -
looks like the older Dts had a different size rear wheel!
19inch? I think ac10s do that however.
Like the previous chap said tho I can't imagine some part worn Dunlop Mx 71s will perform much different.
They're both a hard pack tyre and I think the stud pattern is very similar and I wouldn't pay any attention to road legal or not unless your worried about getting caught out. (Just scrub the bit out that says not for road use)
