They're paying me out giving her back. They wanted £100 to dispose of the bike. Told them to get it in the van and back home.

CAT B Write Off - Back on road? -
CAT B Write Off - Back on road? What an absolute piss take. Guess I'll be breaking her down then.

CAT B Write Off - Back on road? The CAT B tag don't worry me, it getting it back on the road that does. From what I've been reading, the frame has to be crushed because its marked as CAT B? is this not true?

CAT B Write Off - Back on road?Hi All,
I recently got knocked off my bike which sustained damage to the front forks and plastics. As far as I'm aware, there was no damage to the frame. Insurance have stated that it will be a CAT B write off though.
My question is other than getting a new frame and V5, is there any other way I can get this bike on the road again by having it inspected etc? or would you just break it for parts?
Thanks,

Dt cylinder portingFahron Engineering.
I believe his name is Ron Philips, based in Linby , Nottingham. He usd to tune and make his own kits for the RD400s, he sorted my barrel and head when the head got warped and sorted the squish band out ect. Not missed a beat yet.

DEP vs RomeuHenriquesIts sounds a lot better in person and the videos don't really do it justice. I have a video of when I had the DEP on, so I'll put my gopro on tomorrow, get a quick vid of the romeu and post it on here as a "comparison" for anyone interested

DEP vs RomeuHenriquesYeah I think it was the crack that caused the lack of power from the DEP. However when I first got the bike, it had power but not as much power as it has now. If you are looking for best bang for buck, I'd go with the DEP. But if you're looking to get the most out of a DT, I think Romeu is the way to go if you have the cash. I'm so surprised with the amount of power the bike has now because I've been without it for so long!

DEP vs RomeuHenriquesJust wanted to update this thread and say I got my romeuhenriques exhaust.
My DEP has a small hole near the cylinder head, so thought I'd treat myself.
Before hand, I was struggling to get 60mph in 6th out of my bike with the DEP on. With the new exhaust I'm in 4th gear at 55-60.
The powerband is a lot more prominent and you can feel it actually pull you back.
The bike also comes up in 1st 2nd and 3rd with no clutch, just raw power.
Thought I'd update this thread incase anybody is sitting on the wall debating if they should get a DEP or spend the extra money and get the better exhaust.

Direct InjectionIs this what gives KTMs new 2 strokes such good low end power? @Calum

My new toyI'm not gonna lie, that seat looks so comfy..

DT 125 RE coolant expansion bottle queryThe top hose doesn't connect anywhere, its an overflow/expansion system.
On my bike it feeds down through the middle of the frame and pokes out near the spring/swingarm.
The bottom pipe connects to the top of the radiator so that the back expansion bottle acts as an expansion/overflow bottle.

DT 125 RE coolant expansion bottle queryThe top one allows water to escape from the main coolant loop when necessary. The bottom one should be attached to the top of the radiator.

DT125R / DT125RE / DT125X Disc BrakesHey All,
Quick question seeing as I can't find any information on this anywhere.
The bolt pattern looks the same ect, but want to be 100% sure before ordering one. Will a rear disc from a DT125R/RE fit a DT125X?

Top End Tear Down, Inspection, Rebuild, 20,000Personally, my bike didn't have a rebore until 23k miles until the top end went and it scored the cylinder.
If you take the barrel off and run your finger nail around the inside, as long as this doesn't catch I think you can get aware with a hone, someone else might want to confirm this though..
As for gasket set, make sure it's either genuine or athena or it will just blow. I'f get a Wossner personally, I've not heard great stuff about Namura. Also I believe these are cylinders are lined with steel rather than nikosil. Nikosil barrels tend to be on newer competition bikes like the KTM 2 strokes ect?
Hope this helps, I'm sure somebody else can chip in and correct me if I'm wrong. (I most likely am wrong)

Unreal fuel mileage on a DT 125 RE?I get around 85-90 miles per tank before needing to tap in to the reserve. Does anyone know how long the reserve lasts? 10-20 miles?

Vforce reedsI'm looking to get a reed block, is there any particular model of blaster that this comes from?

DEP vs RomeuHenriquesThanks for the info @Calum , really do appreciate it and have a better understanding now! as for the RomeuHenriques pipes, would you recommend one or would you just buy another DEP?
-
DEP vs RomeuHenriquesCool, thanks for the info @Calum will be having a read later on.

Been busy treating myselfI love the CRMs, planning on getting a 250 if I can find one and if I pass my test!

DEP vs RomeuHenriquesWhy would a hole cause the bike to run lean? What causes this?
I thought that the pressure in the exhaust is higher than the atmosphere around it so air wouldn't be flowing back through the hole in to the cylinder right?
Correct me if I'm wrong I'm just trying to get a better understanding of what causes the hole could have.
I'll deffo be getting a replacement exhaust either way I reckon.
