How radical is the porting compared to standard? I'm guessing you can specify what type of tune you want, or is it like the old Stan Stevens stage 1, 2, 3 system?

@nottsbiker Yeah it's not really stage this stage that.

It's more, I run the bike 10K plus and thus the porting should accomodate this, I.E. very late port timings causing lots of lost air and fuel below peak power, or I want punchy mid range, which would tell him how it should be ported.

I think I'd go for mid range as most of my riding is around the city centre and quick get aways with an easy wheelie or two is ideal for me πŸ™‚

@andrewj1680 did you have to remove the spring for painting?

@ricky0115 You basically compress the spring. which allows you to remove the retaining washer. It then just slides off.

@calum oh I think I will leave it, a friend of mine did that and ended up with a broken chin and dentures. Saying that it was a car shock so much more powerful I guess you could probably compress the DT spring with your hands

@ricky0115 not likely, still requires a lot of force

I compressed it by hand so there isn't a lot of tension on the really and I'm running the dt200wr rear shock setup so it's possibly easier to do giving that you can turn the stiffness to suit

I wonder what is the Mick's philosophy behind cutting WR200 head to DT200R chamber design ? Like it's a a tune for the mid-range ..

I don't know alot about it but I do know it totally changed my 125 which is why I gave him the 200 as I know he seems to know his stuff he seems to be pulling good power figures to anything he puts his hands too

@andrewj1680 You can upload images to Imgur directly bud. Create an account.

I can't possibly increase the upload as it would cripple my home network.
