Power valve issue
-
@calum do you have a link for how to remove power valve at all?
@thechompster No, just take the two powervalve end caps off. The offside powervalve housing has a bolt to keep the two pieces together, make sure you don't lose the locating dowels as they're prone to falling out. You'll want to lubricate it with WD40.

@calum ok thanks for the help. With give it a go.

Took the exhaust off. A bit dirty in there but rotates easy enough. Goes through the cleaning process nice and easy so all I can do now is change the servo and hope it sorts it.
-
Odd that it'll do the cleaning cycle fine but not run right.
I'd be more inclined to say faulty CDI more than anything. I guess these bikes are just starting to show their age.
@calum yeah I guess they are.apart from that it runs lovely. Will change the servo. If that doesn't do it just the cdi left I guess.

A friend had a faulty servo, sometime during a ride where the PV was open, it would leave it open. Other times just seem erratic. I believe the gears in the servo was toast.

@mitch_350z iridium spark plug

@mitch_350z iridium spark plug
@thechompster does it have the resistor in it the 'r' in the spark plug type as this can cause issues with the operation of the valve

@thechompster my mistake, I meant without the 'r' lol if it hasn't got the resistor in it the valve finds a mind of its own. You can hear the exhaust note change as you ride

@mitch_350z I see. Where is the resister?

@thechompster I believe itβs built into the core of the plug

@declan yeah it is

I guess it's ok as it ran great with the power valve working spot on for a few weeks. Just got a cdi off eBay and a servo so will try the cdi first and see if it fixes it.
