@calum you see the problem was is i bought the dtx from a guy in Cornwall who mugged me off i think he had been riding it up and down the beach or through salt water and never cleaned it the mot list was huge i have never seen a frame this bad ... lots of tiny holes where it haddnt been welded properly from manufacturer but i took a wire brush grider to it cleaned it up had it shotblasted and powder coated and filled the frame with wax oil to seal it so it should be all good now .... but be careful buying bikes near the sea ... lesson learnt 🤔

It didnt help these Spanish built bikes when the frames had next to no paint on them from new. Proper shoddy work leading to snapped bolt city later.

@scrimsmustang There is no doubt the Japanese built ones are better, but I didn't find too many issues with my RE.

@stinkwheeler @Bananper Almost, I'm pretty sure the DTR's were switched over to Spanish in their later lives. 2000 onwards. Scrim would know the actual dates.

Fatbar was always dream for me. Worth the investment. Just make sure your cables are long enough.

@stinkwheeler Yeah the wider, higher bars, can result in the throttle cable being too short. It would either need rerouting, or a longer one being made up. Along with everything else.

I did want to get the original graphics rather than these but worked out far too expensive and the headlight cowl graphics are now discontinued 🙈

@calum ahh thats cool will have to look at the throttle cable but going to get braided hoses for the brakes anyhow so that shouldn't be too much of a worry

So a little later than planned my exhaust just turned up from Portugal http://imgur.com/gallery/lXDtKTq
Looks smart will polish it and get it fitted asap it seems it was sat in the post office for nearly 3 weeks and that it had an attempted delivery but they never left a ticket.... also just managed to get a dtx headlight from fowlers after having to return one as it was so badly packed it was broken when it arrived the second one wasn't packed much better but i can finally start getting it together now 🙂
