It looks fairly badass though, I'll hopefully have resolved the fitting issues by tomorrow.

I wouldn't bother with the frame bolt. I never did on the dep pip anyway. The pipe os so light that just the end can connected to the frame will be enough!

This was the trouble I found with getting one of his pipes. I asked for a twin pipe to fit the DTX, and what he sent me was made to fit the DTR, and although the frames should be the same, I had to adjust two of the mounting holes to get mine to fit. Even then, it didn't look completely straight. He does great work don't get me wrong, but I paid so much for it and to have it not perfectly fit was very frustrating.

          1st off, great thread.

with regards to the exhaust im sure there is a slight difference between the 88-96 and 96-04 frames or at least the brackets. i remember swapping them over and they just didnt line up the same.

Well guys I've managed to get it on, all be it big faff. Haven't bothered with the bracket as Calum's said, cut an inch and a half off the end and got the dep on, the 2 pipes were so far out they were almost side by side. Put a spacer on the front bracket of the dep to pull it out more to like up abit better with the main pipe, used the original grommet with a piece of handle bar grip packing out the main pipe cus it was far too big.
            Next problem!!

The pissing front midguard hits the pipe when turning the bars left! For now I'm gonna pack out the 2 bolts holding it on
closest to the engine to angle it away from the pipe, and maybe get a different midguard later on that I can butcher abit to fit round the pipe.

@mightyman I know how you feel, this thing wasn't cheap and as good as the workmanship is I've been pretty pissed at how badly it fits, with the equipment the guy has to make these things and how much he's making off them I'd have thought he'd have some decent jigs to make sure they fit better than they do. It said in the title that this was for a dt125 r

                Shut up it is!!! Hahaha

Sorted the midguard problem out, a nut between the top of it and the bottom of the yokes gave enough clearance and it looks no different so I'll be leaving it like that. Everything tightened up I took it out and the faff has been worth it. It's transformed it completely, power kicks in at 6000 from the pv opening then at 8000 the pipe kicks in with a nice rasp, and goes on to go off the clock at 80mph 😄

Next problem: melted my boot on it.

Not much of an update but gave it abit of tlc the other day.
I must say, if you've had trouble finding products that do what you want to add some good shine, Auto Glym works wonders.
I used Auto Glym rapid detailer on the plastics and tank (their super resin polish didn't touch it, but this spray makes it like new) and their trim gel on things such as air box, clocks, fork gaiters and brake disc cover brings all up really well.

The only other mods I really have on my list for this bike are a zeeltronic ignition and possibly a WR200 swing arm if I can find one that isn't in fkin Australia or somewhere stupid.

Had a good days riding today, it's ran on top form as usual all day until being about 10 miles from home, whizzing along at 70 when suddenly.... BWAAAAAAAH
power dropped completely and would barely get to 20mph. I thought the header had come off or even worse the pipe had split.
Pulled over and heard it coming from behind the side panel, the pipe was fine thankfully, pulled the panel off and all looked okay, until I put my fingers around the back of the rubber and turned it round
                                http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w402/Burridge1/Mobile Uploads/image_zpshoxxbnhq.jpeg

I carried on for a bit but was getting dirty looks and going extremely slow so I pulled over again to see if I could do something with it. Ended up wrapping my glove around it with the Velcro then putting the rest of it up against the pipe, it worked thankfully, got to 50 which got me home okay. Shame about my trusty old richa glove, fully toasted.
                                http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w402/Burridge1/Mobile Uploads/image_zpsejtvpeg6.jpeg

So now I've got to figure out what to do with this. As you can see the chamber is ridiculously out of line with the link pipe of the dep, I'd bodged it on originally hence why it went pop, just wish the Romeu pipe has a better fit.

Did you tell Romeu that the pipe wasn't a good fit? I thought he would have it all down to a T by now but it seems not. Can't be selling badly fitting pipes to everyone though.. Tell him your not happy. In the mean time you'll have to manage with another bodge if you need use of the bike.

@MIGHTYMAN Nope:( in hindsight I should have done to be honest, but it's been a good few months now since I got it's it's abit late really. I'm gonna look at flexible metal piping to bridge the gap or something like.
Apart from the fitting issue with that and the bracket that bolts to the frame being way out in happy with the pipe, I know what you're saying though, I just guess that he's using a different model dt to make the pipes on, and metal distorts when it's welded too?

@Burridge It does distort to a certain degree, but I would be surprised if he wasn't accounting for that.

@MIGHTYMAN that's true, he clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to welding, just can't think why it would fit so badly

Personally I'd contact him and let him know. Even if its not a moan but just to point it out. He may offer you a replacement or may not but atleast he can know what he's done wrong so no one else gets the same issue in the future.
