1990 dtr oil pump 4fl completely slack?

    @declan The cable isn't stretched. The whole thing has gone into the oil pump housing.

    The metal piece with the reecess cut out should be way back inside the cutaway. The circlip stops it falling back out of the case and it is stopped by the fact the whole cable does not fit inside the housing.

    I get the impression I am not making it very clear.

      @Calum no I completely understand that's why I mentioned the bushings to it takes up the cable slack

        @declan But I am saying, fix it. It should be fixed not padded out with bushes

          This is how mine looks like. No circlips , basically it holds on a rubber o ring inside the bore and if I want I can pull it out.

                      See where it leaves the junction box, bends 90 odd degrees and has some tiddly bits above it.

                      That's where you adjust it.
